Marah has a very small budget to assist those in crisis and the Help Through Crisis fund has helped cover most of these payments.

Marah is a Christian charitable organisation committed to supporting vulnerable and marginalised adults in the Stroud District, helping them to move on from their addictions and circumstances. We work with people on the margins of society; those who are excluded from the everyday, positive experiences of life due to their circumstances, life history and others' perception of them. The people who come to us suffer from hunger and poverty, and include those who are homeless, have drug and alcohol issues and physical and mental health problems.
Our purpose is to offer friendship, wholesome food, advice, respect and hope to the people who come to us for assistance. We reach out to those in need, providing fellowship and support in a non-judgemental, welcoming framework.
Our vision is to be a key provider of support to those in need in the Stroud District, helping them to improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing. We aim to achieve this by helping our clients to access existing statutory and charitable services. Where these services are unsuitable or unavailable, Marah will aim to provide this help direct.
Marah's current operations are:
A Drop-in service three afternoons a week. A free hot meal is provided and clients enjoy a welcoming, friendly place to meet. The Drop-in is open to all with no criteria needed to access the service and it is staffed by volunteers.
Marah provides access to advocacy services for our clients.
Emergency food packs for those attending the Drop-in who present with an urgent need.
