PERSON SPECIFICATION – ESSENTIAL |
Personal attributes. · Understanding and empathetic response to the needs and barriers of the group of people served by Marah. · Understanding of the issues facing homeless/rough sleeping/mental health issues and social dislocation · Ability to build trust with the above service users · Awareness of community resources and health/social service structures, preferably within Gloucestershire · Ability to engage positively with key players in the community and promote the Trust enthusiastically, including at public speaking events. · Strong relationship-building and communication skills · Creative and positive approach to generating new ideas and solving problems |
Fund Raising · Experience in fundraising, in particular grant applications to local and national trusts and local authority grant provision. · Ability to write well at the level required to make professional grant applications · Ability to evaluate the impact of the operation of grant funded projects and report back to funders · Experience in community engagement, partnership working, events or a related role Marketing Skills · Understanding of marketing techniques and strategies to improve reach, to serve both Marah’s work and a wider group of service users. |
Volunteer Recruitment · Recognition of the principles of Safer Recruitment · Understanding of the role played by volunteers who will be seeking to assist Marah whilst equally looking for personal fulfilment. |
IT Skills · Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel, together with the ability to create graphs for purposes of reporting to Trustees and outside agencies. |
Organisational Skills · Ability to prioritise a disparate workload and manage a range of deadlines through effective time management, planning and administrative skills. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team |
Qualifications: · English GCSE at Level 4/GCSE Grade C/O level and preferably above, or able to demonstrate the level of writing required for making successful grant applications. · Mathematics: GCSE a Level 4/GCSE Grade C or O level · Driving Licence · An enhanced DBS check will be undertaken prior to appointment. |
