There are a variety of volunteer roles within Marah and we could not provide our services without the enthusiasm, time and skills of our volunteers.
Our volunteers come from a range of backgrounds and bring with them different skills, abilities and life experience. You do not have to be a Christian to volunteer with us but it is important to us that our Christian ethos is respected.
Volunteers help out in the kitchen, assisting with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
Volunteers also assist with the running of our Drop-in, their most important task being to provide a welcoming, friendly and supportive atmosphere to our guests. On the practical side, Drop-in volunteers also help set up the session, assist in cleaning up at the end and may be asked to complete practical tasks during the session.
We also have volunteers who provide help with administration and IT support. If you feel you have a particular skill to offer us please contact the Marah office
The Recruitment Process
Volunteer applicants will be asked to complete a Volunteer Application Form We will then meet with the applicant for an informal discussion. A decision will then be made on the applicant’s suitability to volunteer for Marah. If suitable, we will then check references and begin a DBS check. Applicants for Drop-in roles will need to be available for a minimum of two sessions per month. We aim to keep the process as short as possible and aim for completion four weeks from receipt of application.
Marah Trust welcomes applications from all sections of our community and has a Diversity and Equal Opportunit
